Milne Fruit Products is seeks a qualified Purchasing Manager for our growing company. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the effective management, direction, control, and evaluation of Raw Fruit Procurement, Packaging and Production Supplies Purchasing, and Grower Relations.

This is an entry level management position. Experience in the food/beverage industry is preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate who can demonstrate the following:

  1. ability to work with and lead people;
  2. Initiative and ability to think creatively to identify opportunities;
  3. Ability to individually assume responsibility and be proactive:
  4. Good communication skills;
  5. Good analytical skills;
  6. Good computer skills, including data base, spreadsheet, and presentation skills;
  7. Basic understanding of accounting and business financial statements;
  8. Ability to multi-task; and
  9. A strong work ethic, not constrained by the normal work week, and committed to working with others to build and grow the business.

The successful candidate will have:

  • BS/BA in business, horticulture, agriculture or related subject.
  • Three (3) years experience in increasingly responsible related positions.
  • Sound knowledge and experience with principles and practices of business administration including personnel practices, employment laws and fiscal management practices; and the appropriate methods and means of dealing with human behavior situations in a variety of circumstances.
  • PC-based computing experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge of raw fruit quality issues and experience in a food/beverage manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
  • MS Dynamics-NAV (ERP data system) experience preferred but not required.
